Approximately 1,200 staff at Marsh USA Inc are still unaccounted for as of last night, a spokesman told Insurance Times.
"We had a total of 1,700 staff in the World Trade Centre (WTC), and as of last night 500 were accounted for. Our efforts at the moment are focused on the safety of our staff," he said.
Marsh USA Inc had offices on the 93rd-100th floor of the WTC's north tower.
Aon, which also had office space on the 92nd, 99th and 100th floor of the WTC's south tower, issued a statement and message to the families and friends of its staff.
