Holman to join the insurer in early 2014 as commercial group director

Markerstudy has announced its appointment of Martyn Holman after he stepped down as chief executive from Brightside today.

He will take on the position of commercial group director from 2 January and will be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities throughout the group.

Markerstudy chief executive Kevin Spencer said: “I have known Martyn for many years, and I am delighted he has chosen to join our Board of Directors.

“In addition to Martyn’s business acumen, he has never been known to turn down a corporate invitation, and moreover, has won every major insurance-related golf event. In fact, he is synonymous with ‘putting the fun into insurance’ so there is no better fit, to my mind!”

Holman’s replacement at Brightside was announced earlier today as Paul Williams, who will be joining the board as chief executive from early 2014. In the meantime the interim chief executive is Paul Chase-Gardener.

Additionally, Markerstudy Group has promoted Russell Bence to the position of managing director for the retail division.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
