Hilary Meredith, one of the country's leading personal injury solicitors, is to set up her own legal practice after 17 years with Donns Solicitors.

Meredith will take her experience working on Gulf War syndrome, the Manchester air crash and the first ever review of the Legal Aid Board's multi party committee to her new practice, Hilary Meredith Solicitors.

Meredith said: "This is an area of the law I have specialised in for many years.

"To establish a specialist practice providing a holistic approach to maximum severity injury claims is something I have always wanted to achieve."

The split with Donns Solicitors was reported to be amicable.

Meredith will continue to act as a consultant to Donns' clients.
