Law firms Amery Parkes and Clarke Willmott have merged. The new firm will trade under the Clarke Willmott name. David Sedgwick is managing partner of the merged firm.

Clarke Willmott partner and head of insurance department, Rod Evans, said the merger would take the firm up to an annual turnover of £34m.

He said the merger would give the company the opportunity to develop into other areas of the country, and to grow its business in the insurance sector.

The merger came into effect on 1 August.
