The dramatic cut and thrust of the court room is set to be transferred to the London stage for one night only.

A group of lawyers from Dibb Lupton Alsop (DLA) are staging a doom-laden production concerning mediation post-Woolf at the Barbican in London on September 30.

In The Spotlight is a cliff-hanging drama – laced with insurance angles – about the environmental disaster and general mayhem that could be wrought by the Millennium Bug on London's Thames Barrier flood defences.

Help arrives in the form of a flock of legal eagles who stage talks to defuse the potentially devastating scenario.

Among the audience will be some illustrious members of the judiciary including Lord Woolf, who will give a curtain-raising speech. Professor Karl Mackie, chief executive of the Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR), will give the closing address.
