Senior adviser to FSA, Ronald Gould, named to sit on broker board

Miller, the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Ronald Gould as a non-executive director of Miller Insurance Investments and Miller Insurance Services.

Gould is a senior adviser to the FSA, as well as managing partner of the Watch House Alliance consultancy.

He was a founder and chief executive of the specialist investment bank, ABG Sundal Collier, and previously vice chairman of Barclays Asset Management, developing and extending its international investment business in Asia, Europe and the US, including the acquisition of what is now Barclays Global Investors.

Gould is also currently a non-executive director of the Bombay Fund, Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust, JP Morgan Asian Investment Trust, and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander.

In his new role he will also serve on Miller’s audit and remuneration committees.

Graham Clarke, chief executive of Miller, commented “We are delighted to welcome Ron to Miller.

"The knowledge he brings from a career in investment management and banking as well as his experience as a regulatory advisor in the UK and US, will be an important asset to us.

"Ron undertakes the role of non-executive director for a number of high-profile companies, and the independent perspective he will bring will complement the skills of the executive board.”
