The Misys Countrywide network has launched a full cycle EDI commercial vehicle product for brokers through Sabre Insurance.

Sabre is the fourth insurer to launch a full cycle EDI commercial vehicle product via the network in the last 12 months, joining Allianz, Groupama and MMA.

Countrywide is planning to launch a further two full cycle EDI commercial vehicle products with major insurers over the coming months, the company said.

Patrick Swords, underwriting director of Sabre Insurance, said: “Our decision to expand our commercial vehicle portfolio prompted the decision to work with a network. After reviewing a number of options, Countrywide clearly provided the best route to the quality brokers that we want to deal with. Their 800 members are highly committed to electronic trading, allowing us to exploit the benefits of full cycle EDI. We expect to grow our CV book significantly as a result of the partnership.”

John Dawson, head of insurance services, Misys Insurance Management, said: “Brokers are keen to avoid time-consuming manual processing and to focus on providing their customers with superior service using full cycle EDI. The addition of Sabre to our CV panel provides members with yet more ‘exclusive' products - giving them competitive advantage over any broker who is not part of Countrywide.”
