Broker Optin is first start-up to gain support

Freight and haulage commercial broker Optin is the first broker to be backed by Moorhouse Enterprise, which was created to support broker start-ups.

Optin director Mike Callard will be an appointed representative of the Moorhouse Group. He will own 60% of the business, while Moorhouse and its chairman, Lyndon Wood, take 20% each.

Wood said: “It has been great to see the first Moorhouse Enterprise project get off the ground. There are a lot of people who would like to start up their own business but are put off by the various hurdles and the economic climate.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
