New Newcastle site for insurance crash repairs

Crash repairer Nationwide, has bought a 15,000 sq.ft bodyshop in Newcastle-upon-Tyne that will be operation by the end of May to cope with increasing insurer demand.

The site will offer vehicle repair services to insurers, fleet operators and retail customers. Nationwide operates a site in Middlesbrough as well as an RSA dedicated site in Gateshead. It brings Nationwide's total number of operational sites to 73.

Michael Wilmshurst, chief executive, said: “As well as providing us with capacity to fulfil insurance customer demand, we will also be offering our services to fleet operators and retail customers in the area."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
