Former Co-op insurance chief will also head risk committee

David Neave

LV= has appointed David Neave as a non-executive director.

Neave has more than 30 years’ experience of the general insurance industry and most recently was managing director for general insurance with the Co-operative Banking Group.

He stepped down earlier this year after seven years in the post to pursue wider industry roles, but remained part of the group’s executive team.

In his new role, Neave will join the LV= group board, audit and nomination committees and become chairman of the risk committee.

LV= chairman Mark Austen said: “We are delighted to welcome David to LV=.

“Not only has David got relevant insurance experience and leading insights into fraud prevention, he has also worked in the mutual sector, and I believe will play a key role in establishing LV= as the leading example of a sustainable mutual in the modern era.”

Neave said: “I am looking forward to working with Mark and the wider board to continue the LV= success story.

“The business is now a major player in many of its chosen markets and with my general insurance background I hope I can add value across a range of issues and challenges.”
