Gwent Police’s Operation Dino brings total arrests to 40

crashed car

Forty people have now  been arrested in a cash for crash probe in South Wales.

Gwent Police’s Operation Dino has arrested six more people on suspicion of being involved in an insurance scam operated from a garage in Blackwood, the South Wales Argus reports.

The arrests were made following claims referred by insurers and the Insurance Fraud Bureau.

They add to the 34 arrests already made.

The paper quoted Operation Dino head detective chief inspector Jeremy Rogers as saying: “These arrests are the latest, but by no means final stage of our operation to dismantle a ‘crash for cash’ operating in Gwent. We suspect more people were involved and I would urge them to come forward and make contact with Gwent Police before we make contact with them.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
