An interesting advertisement caught Backchat's eye this week:
'Wanted. People of undisputed integrity, standing, and authority, of distinctive leadership and with significant previous board experience and broad experience both from inside and outside the financial services industry. Applications from well-qualified individuals with experience in small firms, such as financial services firms and brokerages welcome.'
All those brokers who have spent the last 18 months complaining about regulation, this is your chance. The advertiser is none other than the FSA, which is seeking to replace up to three of its non-executive directors from 1 December this year.
A chance to shape the future of regulation and at £22,500 per year for two or three days work per month, it's not a bad gig, either.
