Federal Insurance Office to have oversight role

The US House Financial Services Committee has voted to set up a federal government office to monitor the insurance industry, but not regulate it, Reuters reports.

The Federal Insurance Office would be part of the Treasury Department. It will recommend tougher regulation of insurers that are systemic risks. It will also represent US interests in international forums.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
