Hampson to GAB Robins

GAB Robins Global has named Julien Hampson director of third-party claims administration (TPA) operations. Hampson joins GAB Robins after 16 years at Aon. Based in London, he will develop the company’s international presence in the TPA market.

Arig quits Burma

Arab Insurance Group (Arig) is the latest insurer to pull out of the Burmese insurance market. It follows XL and Chubb, which both withdrew from Burma

last week. In a company statement, Arig said: “After a review of the current situation Arig has taken the corporate decision to refrain from renewing any of the isolated risks previously written in Myanmar.”

Lumbis forms Atlas

Paul Lumbis, the former managing director of Guy Carpenter corporate finance, Europe, has launched a new insurance-focused corporate finance advisory practice,

Atlas Partners. It will provide lead advisory support to insurance and reinsurance transactions in the UK, Bermuda, Europe, Middle East, India and South Africa. David Coles, director, and Jon de Jager, assistant director, have also been appointed.

Correction

Insurance Times would like to correct a error in last week’s magazine. In a story regarding Lockton Professions, it was reported that Lorraine Kelly was appointed in November 2007. We would like to clarify that it was in fact Lorraine Boyle.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
