Natalie Randall, deputy head of intelligence at DAC Beachcroft CSG, explains her firm’s entry into the Excellence in Fraud Mitigation category
Why did you put yourselves forward for the category?

We entered because our intelligence and fraud teams have developed and deployed a range of innovations in how we detect, investigate and disrupt insurance fraud. Through the combination of advanced analytics, intelligence-led investigations and legal expertise, we have developed a genuinely integrated approach that addresses both organised and opportunistic fraud.
Over the last year, our strategy has delivered measurable financial savings, strengthened intelligence sharing across the market and helped insurers respond to emerging threats such as artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled fraud. We believe these achievements demonstrate meaningful impact and innovation within the sector.
What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
The holistic way that amalgamates data, intelligence and legal strategy into a single fraud mitigation model. Rather than focusing solely on detection, our approach is designed to identify, investigate and actively disrupt fraudulent activity. The results speak for themselves – tens of millions in attributable fraud savings, hundreds of additional fraudulent claims identified and actionable intelligence shared cross-industry.
We have also developed specialist capabilities to address the growing challenge of AI-generated and manipulated documentation. In our view, the combination of innovation, measurable outcomes and industry-wide benefit makes our entry a strong contender for this award.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this prestigious award would be valuable recognition of the expertise, commitment and investment demonstrated by our fraud and intelligence teams and the wider DAC Beachcroft business. It would highlight the impact that intelligence-led collaboration can have in tackling increasingly sophisticated fraud threats and reinforce our position as a trusted partner to our clients.
Equally importantly, it would acknowledge the contribution of our clients and industry partners who have embraced collaborative intelligence sharing to improve fraud outcomes. The award would provide encouragement to continue innovating further approaches that seek to increase consumer confidence, protect genuine policyholders and disrupt fraudulent behaviours.
