NIG has appointed Andy Brock as its new head of agricultural business in a move to increase its market share in the sector.

Brock's role is to increase distribution channels for the agricultural business, which include FarmWeb, broker relationships and the Royal Bank of Scotland specialist agricultural business division.

NIG said its agricultural business accounts for a "large" chunk of its gross written premium.

Brock was previously commercial director at London General Insurance.

Lee Marsh, NIG commercial director said: “I’m delighted that Andy is joining us at NIG.

"Following closely on the renewal of our contract with FarmWeb this senior appointment underlines our continued commitment to the agricultural sector and represents further investment in our ambition to grow NIG’s market share of agricultural business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
