Appoint, join, new, hire, woman, appointment

Northern Marine Underwriters (NMU) has announced the appointment of three new associated directors

Duncan McClean, Nick Limb and Paul Hiscoe have been appointed to their new roles, in which they will focus on identifying and driving forward many of the company’s long-term strategic objectives in a range of client-facing areas such as products, business development and marketing.

Meanwhile Nick Green takes on the role of regional manager for the Birmingham branch, Lesley Hewitt-Smith for Letchworth and Derek Wall for Leeds.

NMU chief executive Les Dobby said: “In the current economic climate, it is vital that we are able to respond to our clients’ fast evolving needs. We believe that this first phase of changes will allow us to achieve this and enhance our strategic thinking within the business, adding real value to services both in our traditional lines such as cargo and in our new product areas like fine art and terrorism. We are utterly committed to the long term stability of NMU, so we are not stopping here and we will continue to evolve as both our own and our clients’ needs demand.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
