Lloyd's syndicate Beazley has launched Beazley IQ, an electronic queueing system for the box. The company hopes this will see an end to brokers having to spend time queuing for its underwriters at Lloyd's.
The electronic system sends the broker a text message when their name is near the top of the list, so they can make their way to the box and minimise time spent waiting around.
All the brokers have to do is leave their name and mobile phone number and they are then notified when they are third in the queue.
Active underwriter Andrew Beazley said: "By using new technology Beazley IQ will revolutionise a queuing system that has been in place at Lloyd's for centuries."
The facility will soon be available via the Beazley website too.
