As companies prepare for FSA visits, Ian Gorham, partner at the financial markets group of Grant Thornton, has some interesting advice.

At a recent conference, he told surprised brokers it was advisable not to have sex with staff when the FSA was visiting. "It doesn't look good," he said. According to Gorham, staff having sex doesn't present the professional image the FSA is looking for.

Why workers would be wanting to go at it during an FSA visit is a bit of a mystery.

He also said that staff should not be "thick" when it comes to understanding the FSA's agenda and firms should have a "virgin" meeting before the main FSA event. Backchat was afraid to ask about the latter.
