CGNU has marked its £250m investment in wealth management services with the launch of the first phase of its inter-active personal finance website – norwich-union.com.

The personal financial planning site will initially provide a range of services, including a 60-second wealth check-up and a wealth maximiser – a detailed advice service on how to become better off.

Also provided is up-to-the-minute financial news from FT.com and a knowledge centre of impartial information on personal finance issues with a plain English jargon buster.

A fund supermarket and share dealing service is to follow later this year and will include insurance and banking products.

Nicholas Smith, managing director of norwichunion.com, said the service will appeal to the UK's internet connected community, half of whom already do their own research into financial products online.
