Norwich Union (NU) is running a fraud management pilot scheme for its claims investigators and support staff.

The pilot is being run in conjunction with fraud management specialist VFM Services.

The scheme was set up to improve the fraud detection skills of NU's fieldworkers.

An NU spokesman said: "Staff are being trained in cognitive interviewing techniques."

The scheme involved groups of claims investigators, as well as support and management staff, at NU locations across the UK.

The spokesman added that the scheme was currently only a pilot, and that the insurer would be assessing the results before making any permanent arrangements.

VFM Services has been assisting NU with the scheme for six months.
