Broker Oughtred & Harrison has taken the plunge and launched a new interactive consumer web site, www.ohio.co.uk.

Currently offering fully interactive quotes for travel, Oughtred & Harrison plans to make its motor and home options fully interactive by the year end.

John Harris, managing director at Oughtred & Harrison, said: "The internet is critical for brokers. It is a new distribution channel and brokers must come face to face with it and make the best of it.

"It is important that brokers don't leave it too late and try to get there within a reasonable time."

Oughtred & Harrison is currently working on two major deals to enhance its net distribution capabilities. Announcements are expected soon.
