One in ten homeowners fail to sign up to home insurance, a report by Zurich said today.
The report also said one in five Britons are at risk of being underinsured because they are unsure of the value of their home contents.
Zurich highlighted the South West as the country's under-insurance hotspot.
It also said young people (16-24 years) were the most lax when it comes to insuring their home contents.
