The top US insurance company for churches is to offer coverage for shootings, bombings and hostage stand-offs.
Church Mutual Insurance says the coverage is the first of its kind being offered to religious organisations.
Company research found there had been at least 12 shootings or bombings at churches it provides cover for. The expanded liability coverage will offer a congregation cover for counselling a victim's family, hiring security, renting temporary facilities and funerals.
