New products attract over 10,000 users in the first year

Open GI, the broker solutions specialist, has secured contracts to deliver its new range of products, launched to the market in October 2006, to over 10,000 users.

The range includes Open GI’s new intuitive desktop interface (Open-i), an enhanced tool for the dynamic production of commercial registers (Open-R), and software providing file connectivity with the Open GI core back-office system (OpenConnect)

Also included is OpenWord – a tool that integrates with Microsoft WordTM for seamless document creation.

The success follows Open GI transitioning its core platform to run on a powerful combination of Intel hardware and Linux technology.

Simon Hughes, sales and marketing director, Open GI, said: “The new products have been a real success with a huge surge in uptake since their launch. Our core back office system has led the market for years in terms of reliability, general functionality and depth of insurer product availability as evidenced by our footprint. We’ve protected the investment our brokers have made in that core system by adding this range of complementary products built on new technologies.

“Open GI brokers can enjoy the features and benefits of the new products without needing to undertake a wholesale replacement of their business-critical trading platform. It’s encouraging that so many brokers are taking advantage of the enhanced functionality and recognising the important role technology has to play within their business and the industry as a whole.”
