Group announces boardroom reshuffle following LV deal.

Highway has announced a number of board changes following its acquisition by Liverpool Victoria.

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange, Highway said: "Following the acquisition of Highway by Liverpool Victoria Insurance Company Limited, Mike Rogers, Keith Abercromby, Phil Bunker, Stephen Castle, Steven Daniels, John O'Roarke and Richard Rowney have been appointed to the Board of Highway as executive directors with effect from 15 October 2008. They will also join the boards of Highway Insurance Company Limited and Hero Insurance Services Limited .

"Mike Rogers has been appointed cairman and John O'Roarke has been appointed chief executive, respectively, of Highway, HiCo and Hero.

"Non-executive directors, Richard Gamble, Peter Salsbury, David Barker, Ian Campbell and Judy Kellie have stepped down from the boards of HiCo and Hero with immediate effect and will leave the Board of Highway on 6 November 2008."

Earlier this week, it was announced that the current Highway chief executive Andrew Gibson is leaving the insurer to explore opportunities outside of the group. Gibson will stay on in advisory capacity until the end of the year.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
