Timely ascent to summit

Congratulations to Joaquim Caria and Paul Lindeboom from reinsurance broker PWS, who reached the summit of Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain rise in the world.

By coincidence, the pair, who had no mountaineering experience, reached the summit on the same day as PWS was acquired by THB Group.

It would be far too easy to draw the obvious parallels between the gargantuan struggle of the THB/PWS deal and the pair’s jaunt up the mountain.

So Backchat will instead point out that Caria and Lindeboom had the foresight to carry a THB flag to the summit in case the on-off-acquisition completed. Unanswered questions include: did the pair have a PWS flag to fly in case the deal collapsed? And could this be the site of THB’s next international office?
