The Financial Service Consumer Panel has rejected the Treasury's proposal to implement CAT standards, saying they were likely to do more harm than good.

The 13-strong panel believes the standards are set too low and that they are to open to differences in interpretation.

Instead, the panel has endorsed the government's proposals to bring long-term care insurance within the remit of the Financial Services Authority.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
