Passive smoking claims could become “very similar to the asbestos cases”, a leading lawyer has warned.
Claimant lawyer Jez Brook said new research indicating that passive smoking increased the risk of lung cancer and heart disease should not be ignored by insurers.
Hugh Price, of Hugh James Solicitors, said insurers should be taking steps to assess potential claims.
