Kris Akabusi, the smiling man of British athletics, was on hand to dole out awards to the most talented staff at loss adjusters PCS this week.

The conference theme was Going for Gold, with the Olympics in full swing.

Pictured is a grinning Akabusi presenting an award to Newcastle-based Stella Flowdy, who was voted the company's best new loss adjuster.

Other winners at the PCS conference included Mark Wilson, who was best adjuster.

Runner-up for the best adjuster title was Nigel Smith of Bristol.

The award for best branch went to the PCS Birmingham office.

More than 220 adjusters and delegates attended the conference, although they had to share buses and cars because of the fuel crisis, that caused chaos around the country.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
