Petplan has launched a new product that provides financial protection against damage or injury while horseriding.

The new product aims to address a general lack of cover against third party litigation arising from the 3000 horse-related accidents each year.

In a bid to address the uninsured liabilities associated with the sport, cover extends to third party legal and property costs.

Petplan's communications manager Alison Andrew said: "Rider Plan provides peace of mind as riders feel confident that, if anything should happen whilst riding, they will be financially covered for most eventualities."

Rider Plan offers several levels of cover, including; under 18, Basic and Deluxe. In addition, the level of cover offered is not affected by where policyholder's live.
