I read with interest Michael Faulkner's article in (22 May Insurance Times ). I am the chief excecutive of medical opinion provider Premier Medical and of medical services provider Rapid Trauma Assessment (RTA). RTA is greatly involved in rehabilitation, providing a service to companies such as Norwich Union and Groupama.

We are about to compile a research project into the efficacy of early intervention in rehabilitation. Our publication team will include physiotherapists, a specialist practitioner and an orthopaedic surgeon.

There is early evidence that physiotherapy accelerates functional recovery, thereby allowing the injured party to return to work at an earlier stage. What is not clear at tpresent, is the ultimate cessation of symptoms.
