The industry portal Polaris E-Market has set up an intermediary advisory forum to help with its development.

E-Market's aim is to allow brokers to exchange information via the internet with six major insurers: Allianz Cornhill, AXA, Groupama, Norwich Union, Royal & SunAlliance and Zurich Financial Services.

AXA head of broker development Colin Calder said the forum was to help prevent fragmentation within the project.

"We are now engaging with key intermediaries to get their help to ensure what we build is what they need," he said.

Polaris UK managing director Martin McLachlan said: "The forum is made up of intermediaries from the general insurance market who will work with us to help shape the development of this initiative from both the functional and usability standpoints."
