Officers hail ’good deed of the night’

Delivery car

Police seized a food delivery driver’s car for having no insurance, but instead of leaving the customers hungry, delivered the food themselves.

Traffic officers seized the Toyota Yaris (pictured) near Huddersfield, Yorkshire, on Wednesday night, after they discovered the car was not insured and the driver had no licence.

The police then tweeted: “Good deed of the night, we delivered the food after we seized this delivery car for no licence or insurance.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
