Rehab and medico-legal specialist Premex Group has acquired Liverpool-based Howarth Medical Reporting Services, increasing its annual caseload to 85,000.
This is the first in a number of acquisitions Premex is pursuing in the sector, according to its chief executive Simon Margolis. "We have invested heavily in our IT infrastructure and personnel development.
"Over the past 10 years, the industry has grown to the extent that Premex and others now provide most of the medical reports used, particularly in the road traffic accident market. Our sector has now matured and we believe that consolidation is not only desirable, but inevitable."
