Allianz claims service
Allianz Cornhill has unveiled its new household claims centre which will offer assistance to customers and brokers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The company said that by providing a dedicated notification and full claims handling facility, claim forms would become a thing of the past and the whole claims process would be significantly faster.

Allianz Cornhill claims manager Keith Hough said: "We are committed to being a strong competitor in this field and are confident that improvements in service to the end customer are key."

Caravan rescue
Euclidian Underwriting and Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Leisure, working with marine specialist Float Tech, have devised a way of raising holiday caravan homes out of harms way during a flood.

Flooding in the UK has resulted in massive losses for insurance companies over the last few years, with the leisure industry suffering heavy losses on holiday caravan parks that have become frequent victims of flooding.

The Floodsaver device sits unobtrusively beneath the holiday caravan home, but once it comes into contact with water it is capable of being raised 3m by the use of the cantilever arms, which are set into the concrete base preventing it from floating away.

Floodsaver is likely to cost up to £3,500 per caravan, potentially saving a £35,000 caravan holiday home from being destroyed by flooding.

Aon merges divisions
Aon has launched a new professional indemnity business to serve the needs of professionals and financial services businesses.

Earlier this year Aon decided to merge three of its specialist divisions to create a new business, Aon Professional Risks (APR).

By combining the three former divisions, Aon said it would be able to share knowledge and information, pool experience and harness best practice for the benefit of clients and markets.

Aon said that the business was now looking to inject more innovation, strategic thinking and improved client service into the risk transfer and corporate protection domain.
