Hml is offering a free Alphadot security marking system with its HML Bike Plus insurance scheme.

HML said it chose Alphadot because it carried on working after all other security measures had been defeated.

Alphadot's figures show that bikes marked with its system are 20 times less likely to be stolen and are three times more likely to be recovered intact. Approximately three quarters of stolen bikes are broken up for spares.

HML Bike Plus covers all motorcycles and scooters, and riders aged 16 to 75. It offers all covers and all areas for standard and non-standard risks.

Brokers get 10% commission from Bike Plus. For an extra annual premium of £55, policyholders can take out an optional breakdown and recovery service. The commission for brokers on this optional cover is £10.
