Gavin Phillips to oversee Lloyd's business.

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), has appointed partner Gavin Phillips as head of the London Market and Lloyd’s insurance group.

Phillips, who becomes a member of the UK insurance leadership team at PwC, succeeds Philip Calnan who will continue, the company said, to work with clients both in the Lloyd's and London Market and the wider insurance sector.

Phillips has 15 years of experience in PwC's insurance and reinsurance practice, including three years spent on secondment to the US firm based in New York. He has undertaken assignments covering audit, financial investigation, due diligence and regulation, and started his career at Lloyd’s.

He said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at a time when our practice is growing strongly, as demonstrated by our recent successes both in the audit and advisory parts of the business.

"With the range of services and depth of expertise that PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP can provide its clients, I believe that our insurance practice, and London Market practice specifically, offer continued growth opportunities for both existing and new clients.”

Andrew Kail, UK insurance leader at PwC added: "It is an exciting time for our insurance practice. I am confident that Gavin will make a real difference in taking our business forward and further meeting the needs of our clients.”
