Loss adjuster QuestGates is to launch a motor investigation and fraud product following the recruitment of three senior personnel from claims specialist Brownsword

Head of fraud Steve Thompson, project manager Sean Moss and product development manager Gary Woodhall have joined QuestGates as equity partners in the same roles they held at Brownsword.

The move coincides with last week's purchase of Brownsword by Capita, which is looking to enter into the voice risk analysis area of claims handling.

Capita bought Brownsword for £5m, assuming £3.5m of debt. The deal also involves a further £5m dependent on achieving specified targets by the end of 2006.

Capita Group executive chairman Rod Aldridge said: "We are delighted not only to have completed the acquisition of Brownsword, but also to have been chosen as the exclusive provider of Digilog's solution to the public sector in the UK and Ireland."

Capita has also negotiated a 10-year licence to use the Digilog lie detector technology across the insurance industry.
