RAC wants to offer all motorists in its legal expenses policies and not just members.

RAC head of commercial development in legal services Jonathan Gulliford said RAC began its marketing push a month ago and had received a good response. He said RAC was targeting its after-the-event accident assistance product. "We are a brand that can be trusted and can help the motorist who needs genuine help," he said. " We are not looking to drive up premiums with spurious and inflated claims."

Gulliford said RAC was also looking to grow its before-the-event insurance policies in line with partners Norwich Union and AXA.
