Stolen vehicle recovery company Tracker helped police retrieve almost 80 high-value cars in September, according to its first monthly bulletin.

Tracker said its location systems successfully located 79 vehicles last month, with a total cost of £1.6m. The single highest value vehicle was a £165,000 Aston Martin.

Eleven arrests resulted from the recoveries.

The statistics are for recoveries made using Tracker's Retrieve and Monitor systems, but not its latest global positioning system model – Horizon.

Dennis Lavers, Tracker insurance liaison manager, said he expeced Horizon to substantially boost its record on recoveries because it had the capability to detect if a vehicle was concealed in a garage or a cargo container.

Tracker said its system had to date led to the recovery of 675 vehicles with a total value of £83.7m and resulted in 1,202 arrests.
