Insurance Times reveals the top five insurers in the solicitors PI market since 2006, and the percentage of the market they took.
The 2010-2011 renewal season was probably the most turbulent on record, as Quinn dropped out completely and other insures, such as Catlin and Hiscox, pulled out altogether fearing a worsening claims experience from firms in the assigned risks pool.
A temporary reduction in capacity was filled by Inter Hannover, which through Lockton, picked up a lot of the shedded premium.
