Airmic is drafting a British risk management industry standard.

The asssociation is working on the standard with the Association of Local Authority Risk Managers and the Institute of Risk Management.

Airmic executive director David Gamble said it was expected to go out for general consultation next month, but was unlikely to become compulsory.

“It is taking us longer than expected but that's because of the level of response we've received and the number of changes we've had to make as a result,” he said.
