Rj Wallace, the non-marine liability division of Lloyd's syndicate Limit, is to drop its personal accident business.

Director for international liability David Constable said the move was due to RJ Wallace wanting to concentrate on its liability business.

He added: "A lot of personal accident business comes from the US and we did not want to have money tied up there."

The company will still be writing new business in all other areas, although Constable admitted the syndicate would be tightening up its underwriting.

He said: "As the year goes on, it is getting tougher to find capacity and we need to be careful with renewals."
