Office set up following raid on rival law firm CMS Cameron McKenna

Reynolds Porter Chamberlain has opened its Bristol office, which has been set up following a raid on CMS Cameron McKenna last year.

The City law firm has hired seven Camerons insurance and reinsurance partners, including Joe Bryant, Simon Chandler and Will Sefton.

A further three partners are due to join in March. The office, the firm’s first in the UK outside of London, currently comprises a team of 28 people.

The office in the Temple Circus development, which is within walking distance of Bristol Temple Meads station, will initially focus on defendant professional indemnity work largely generated from the London Market.

The team will handle complex claims on behalf of a broad range of professionals, including legal, construction, financial services, pension professionals, trustees, accountants and brokers.

RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough said: “Complex professional indemnity work has been at the heart of RPC for many years, and this move underlines the strength of our commitment to that part of our business. The new people will integrate seamlessly with our existing top-ranked PI team, and will add greater depth and breadth to our insurance practice overall.”

“There is a growing appetite amongst our clients for a quality service outside London. This new office will offer the greater choice and flexibility that we know they are after.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
