RSA's Jon Hancock will replace Paul Donaldson as managing director, UK commercial lines, subject to FSA approval.

Donaldson has been apointed group broker relationship and sales director reporting to group chief executive Andy Haste.

Hancock will now report to RSA UK chief executive Adrian Brown, starting 1 July following a transition period with Donaldson.

Brown said: "I wanted to bring someone in who could continue the strong work that Paul had done, while at the same time, bring their own skills and experience. Jon fits the bill perfectly.

"He has a wealth of experience and comes armed with an impressive track record and I’m delighted to welcome him to my team."

Speaking about Donaldson's new role, Brown said: “As for Paul, his experience and expertise is perfect for this new role.

He will help ensure RSA puts out a consistent message to our key brokers across the world and I’m looking forward to working with him and helping shape that.

“Paul has done a great job over the last four years, improving the way we do business with brokers and I would like to thank him for his contribution to the UK business and wish him every success in his new role.”

Hancock joins RSA UK from its business in Asia and the Middle East, where he’s been chief executive for the past 15 months.

Prior to that, he was underwriting director of the emerging markets business.

He has experience of the UK market having started his career with RSA in underwriting, claims and trading roles based in Liverpool and Manchester.
