RSA has announced the restructure of its global specialty business into three divisions as in a bid to improve links with brokers and customers across the world.

As of 1 June, all RSA regional specialty business will come under the insurer’s Global Specialty Lines (GSL) division, which was launched in September last year and currently writes around £1.2bn of premiums globally.

GSL will now include (all three will continue their UK responsibilities)

  • Construction and engineering and renewable energy, led by Steve Kingshott
  • Marine, led by Richard Turner
  • Risk managed business, led by Paul Greensmith

Along with these divisional changes, UK underwriting director Neil Lightbown will also take on the role of underwriting director for GSL.

Group broker relationship and sales director Paul Donaldson said: “Since we launched GSL in September last year, we’ve made some great progress. To build on this momentum we’ve organised ourselves globally in order to support our growth.

“The changes will help us drive strategic direction and increase the group’s appetite for each specialism. In addition, they’ll support our local offering to customers and brokers by helping us provide expertise and capacity globally.”
