Saga Travel Insurance is including higher risk activities to its travel cover to reflect statistics that show over-50s are increasingly embracing so called higher-risk sports and activities, preferring excitement and adventure on holiday to more leisurely pursuits.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive, Saga, said: "Increasing numbers of over 50s are seeking out an active and challenging lifestyle and might not stop to consider whether their travel insurance covers them for a particular sport or activity."

Saga Travel Insurance has introduced automatic cover for a wide range of leisure activities including canoeing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, surfing and trampolining with additional options to cover scuba diving and winter sports.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
