International property auctioneers Colliers Condrad Ritblat Erdman is holding its first sale of internet domain names in London on November 22.

The 303 names, which are expected to sell for more than £1m, include addresses such as accident-insuring.com, lifeinsuring.com and medicalinsuring.com.

Stephen Bellau, associate director of Colliers CRE's auctions department, said: “These domains are truly remarkable, they will enable the creation or expansion of a global internet ‘insuring' portal, sending anyone searching the internet worldwide directly to the owner's website.”

Auctions of domain names are becoming increasingly common as companies seek to secure their presence on the web.

Recent sales have included loans.com fetching £2m and business.com going for £5m, the highest auction price so far.

Many larger companies routinely secure up to 500 domain names relating to them or their industry.
