Michael Warren and Chris Blackham to step down

UK General has announced changes to its board, with director Michael Warren and non-executive director Chris Blackham both stepping down.

The Leeds-based specialist insurer said the changes were by “mutual consent” and that they would not be replacing either directors in the executive team.

Warren, who has left the business, has also resigned from the board of UK General’s subsidiary agricultural business Rural Insurance.

UK General chief executive Peter Hubbard said: “I want to thank Michael and Chris for their significant contributions to the business, and wish them every future success.”

UK General divisional heads Karen Beales (MD schemes), Mike Keating (MD commercial) and Ian Barclay (MD Rural) remain on the executive management team, reporting to Hubbard.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
